Call out for Performance Poets, Story tellers and Wordsmiths to perform work on the theme of ‘Peace’.

City Arts with the Creative Quarter Co. and Blend Café will be promoting a programme of events in the unique setting of Sneinton Plaza in our beautiful geodesic dome.

Taking place in November, there is a national project called ‘A Paper Peace’, which will be coming to Nottingham over the weekend 17/18 November.  The focus of this project is the end of World War 1, and how peace was communicated in 1918.

As part of the lead up to the weekend there will be a variety of activities in and around the Dome.  As well as linking to ‘A Paper Peace’, these will aim to generate a sense of place in Sneinton, drawing people to congregate and enjoy lively cultural opportunities that are accessible and affordable.

We would like to offer performers and wordsmiths the opportunity to be part of a one-off event where work around the subject of ‘Peace’ will be performed.  This can reflect any notion of Peace in its broadest sense and may not necessarily be linked to WWI.  We live in a turbulent world where peace is still a dream to many people.  Our city hosts communities who have fled their homeland due to conflict and some people live daily with conflicting issues that can make ‘peace’ unattainable.
