City Arts with the Creative Quarter Co. and Blend Café will be promoting a programme of events in the unique setting of Sneinton Plaza in our beautiful geodesic dome.

There is a national project called ‘A Paper Peace’ that is coming to Nottingham over the weekend  17/18 November, when the focus will be the end of World War I and how peace was communicated.  As part of the lead up to the weekend there will be a variety of activities in and around the dome, some linked to peace and others not.  The idea is to generate a sense of place in Sneinton that is culturally alive and a draw for people to congregate and enjoy cultural opportunities that are accessible and affordable.

There is an opportunity to project onto the Dome at night and City Arts would like to invite local film makers to send their work to us in order that it can be screened.

Films should be on, or respond to, the theme of ‘peace’.  They will be shown between 25 October – 18 November 2018.

Our aim is to raise the profile of film makers by offering outdoor screenings, and also to challenge people’s notion of ‘peace’, whether in relation to war or not.

Currently other activities being considered for the programme are: Live music, performance, poetry,  on the theme of peace, Halloween and Bonfire Night activities, photographic festival, Hockley Hustle and a mini beer festival.

If you have a film that you think would fit our theme of peace in all its forms and guises please send us a shared link that we can view.  We will then contact you should your film be chosen to be screened.  Films need to be no longer than 5 mins.  Please applications by 12 noon on Monday 5 November to
