These photos show the unveiling of a new sculpture, commissioned to mark the opening of the Institute of Mental Health building on the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus.

The sculpture, entitled House for a Gordian Knot, was made by sculptor Ekkehard Altenburger out of Italian Carrara marble and now sits outside the Institute’s headquarters on Triumph Road.  Ekkehard’s sculpture represents the experience of mental illness and is situated at the Institute’s entrance.

The City Arts’ Thursday Group also produced a body of work under the guidance of Ekkehard.  His instruction formed part of a commission through the Institute of Mental Health in Nottingham.  This gallery feature images of the Thursday Group being celebrated at the unveiling of the sculpture.
