City Arts will be delivering a new arts project called ‘Daydreaming on Dialysis’ on the renal wards at Nottingham’s City Hospital.

Rainbow coloured mosaicThe project will run from April to June 2013.  Artists Panya Banjoko (writer, storyteller and performance poet) and Zantium Mosaics will be working with patients accessing the ward to produce a series of energising and colourful mosaics that will adorn the walls in the unit.  Patients spend around six hours having dialysis, three times a week.  We hope that the project will improve their experience and the mosaics will bring some lasting colour to the ward.

In initial introductory sessions the artists will consult with patients to create poetry and develop designs for the mosaic panels, which will incorporate the poetry produced.

We are really looking forward to starting this project as it will engage patients during their dialysis and bring creativity and stimulation onto the wards!
