Line drawing of face

A workshop designed to help you improve or get started drawing portraits. We will guide you towards a new approach to portraiture.

About this Event

Whether you’re just starting out or have been drawing people for years, this workshop will shake up what you think you can do. Artist Anya Maude will guide you towards a new approach to portraiture.

In this session we’ll explore different ways of using line to achieve a likeness. We will be focusing on the messy, the spontaneous, and the imperfect. You will learn how embracing these can improve your drawing.

This is the first of two linked workshops. Together they will guide you through the process of designing and creating a piece of embroidered art. You can book each separately, or book them together for a small discount.

About the artist

Anya is a freelance illustrator and embroidery artist. They graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019, and have produced work for several local arts and publishing organisations. Their embroidery work borrows from the techniques of ink drawing, bringing the fluidity of the sketch into thread.
