Sound Walk in West Bridgeford

Join artist Isabel Jones a ‘sound walk’ around Nottingham Arboretum. These walks are for people aged 55+.

What is a sound walk?

Sound Walks open up a new way of discovering sounds. Walkers wear headphones and artist Isabel Jones will operate a radio transmitter, allowing you to listen to and record sounds as you walk.

The guided walks will combine the use of voice, stories and audio recordings. They will inspire conversation and listening.

Please wear suitable clothing. Bring a waterproof for rainy weather and comfortable shoes for walking.

This event is one of a series. The walks will take place in a mixture of urban and rural settings.

COVID-safety

The government advice is:

To protect yourself and others, when you leave home you must:

  • wash hands – keep washing your hands regularly
  • cover face – wear a face covering over your nose and mouth in enclosed spaces
  • make space – stay at least a metre away from people not in your household

If you are feeling unwell, get a test and do not leave home for at least 10 days.

To ensure people’s safety City Arts will:

  • limit participant numbers to 5 at a time
  • ensure social distancing
  • have hand sanitiser available
  • sanitise all equipment before and in-between uses

Please bring your own face make if you wish to wear one. If you have your own (over the ear) headphones, feel free to bring these along.
