City Arts’ Young Producers present a workshop combining mindfulness and nature.
Create your own small, sprouted seed gardens combining natural materials and personal artefacts. The personal objects you add to your seed gardens will symbolise areas in your life that you want to be mindful of. As it grows and blooms, your garden will be a reminder that these parts of your life are developing and changing.
We will begin with a mindfulness warm up – a guided visualisation body-scan activity that relates to growth and nature. Artists Meridith Dickin and Chantelle Fagan-Clarke will help you design and build your seed garden.
The aim of this activity is to support and empower you to make positive changes in your life. As well as having a garden to take home with you, you will feel a sense of calm, learn mindfulness techniques and feel positive about the future.
Suitable for people aged 16+.
How does it work?
Please bring any symbolic personal items that you would like to include in your garden. They should be non-porous.
For example, if your intention is about improving your career, you might bring coins for wealth, or a sharp pencil for focus – the choice is yours…
The activity will use quick sprouting seeds. Please be aware of allergens.
Careful consideration has been put into COVID-safety at the workshop, including allowing for social distancing.
