Puppet Club

A group for performers, designers and makers to share ideas, test new work and collaborate.

Seven performers stand in a row, each operating a fluffy white puppet resembling a small dog, on a table in front of them. They are smiling and focused on their puppets. The backdrop is a large screen with a brick wall image and partially visible text that reads “POOPA.” On the far right, a performer dressed as a clown in a whimsical white costume with exaggerated makeup and a bow-shaped hat looks on with a wide smile.

City Arts’ Puppet Club is a group of artists who use puppetry as part of their practice, either as makers or performers. It is peer-led, members support each other to grow as artists. It is a place to share new ideas and techniques. The club is a great way to meet other puppeteers and designers in the East Midlands.

How it works

Members will be invited to join our closed Facebook Group. Here we plan and discuss puppetry and Puppet Club events. If you don’t use Facebook we can find alternative ways to keep you in the loop.

We meet once every 3-months for a show-and-tell style session. You can showcase work-in-progress, give and receive feedback, hear about the latest opportunities and meet like-minded people.
