Are you over 55, friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about creativity?

We have several opportunities available for committed and enthusiastic people to work with City Arts on two arts projects aimed at engaging people aged 55+.

Words of Wisdom will explore literature and poetry and Classical Fusion will focus on music, dance and digital arts. These will be inclusive projects engaging older people including those living with dementia. They will offer people the opportunities create art that reflects on their life experiences.

The projects are led by City Arts and partners include Nottingham City Council, Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, UNESCO Nottingham City of Literature, The Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall.

Information for Applicants

Volunteers are crucial to our project. We are looking for people who have an interest in the arts and ‘creative ageing’. We are asking you to commit a small amount of your time until 2021. You will support the development of our projects and also help to evaluate them.

We ask that you are free to commit in the following ways:

  1. Attend and contribute to ‘working group’ meetings. There are currently two working groups for Words of Wisdom and Classical Fusion. The meetings are bi-monthly and last for around 2 hours.
  2. Contribute to our evaluation plans and analyse data/feedback. The evaluation is based on a particular model that looks at positive changes in people over the duration of a project. We would like volunteers to assist us in looking at the case studies that come in and discuss how these can be presented to the public in an easy way. An initial induction  will help you get to grips with the evaluation and how you can help us. The organisation that is managing the evaluation are the Culture Syndicates. We ask that people can commit to regular evaluation meetings to help us shape the evaluation and help us with the enquiry. Each meeting will be around 2 hours on each occasion.
