House of the Flying Wheel exhibition and launch at Backlit – Private View on the 6th of June, from 6.00pm

The Exhibition is open from the 7th June – 7th September 2014.

Backlit is launching its latest exhibition, House of the Flying Wheel, which coincides with its fifth birthday. Members of the public are invited to come along to toast the launch which will include the unveiling of the brand new second floor.

Featuring work by Darren Banks, Mark Davey, Tracey McMaster, Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) and Julian Wild.

Backlit is a two-storey independent art gallery located in the heart of Nottingham. It provides affordable studio spaces for contemporary artists, supports early career graduates, emerging artists and international touring practitioners.

 Backlit provides a dynamic public programme of national and international artists including original artist commissions, workshops, screenings and live debates. It has a strong working relationship with regional and national organisations and universities. It is committed to supporting community engaged projects and provides unique critical sessions for artists working in the city.
