Dancers and performers needed for Night of Festivals 2013

City Arts and Artreach are looking for volunteer performers and dancers to take part in Night of Festivals when it comes to Nottingham in September 2013. Previous performance experience is not necessary. This is a great opportunity to get a taste of public performance, practice your performance skills and be part of an event that brightens Nottingham City Centre.

We require fourteen volunteers: six to wear the beautiful Mexican Day of the Dead inspired ‘Katrina’ costumes (image above) and eight to become ‘Napoleon Pigs’ (image right). You will take part in a number of mini carnival processions/performances and interact with members of the public alongside a host of other colourful costumed characters.

The costumes have been created by Mandinga Arts, a leading UK carnival arts company. There will be the opportunity to work with experienced staff from Mandinga, looking at costume, movement and performance.

Performances will happen on the 13^th and 14^th of September. There will also be two sessions with Marianna from Mandinga, each two hours long. The first sessions will take place August 29^th or 30^th. The second sessions will take place September 7^th or 8^th. Volunteers must be able to commit to these dates.
