What is a ‘Sound Walk?’
‘Sound Walks’ are a fun and creative way to enjoy sound. Exploring both city and countryside, you’ll discover different voices, stories and recordings. The walks will be a great way to meet new people and strike up conversations.
Artist Isabel Jones will lead a series of the walks throughout 2020. Each walk will take a different route, in a rural or urban location. If you have any access needs, please contact Kate Duncan at City Arts. We will try to adapt the route to your requirements.
About the Artist
Isabel Jones is the Artistic Director of Salamanda Tandem. The organisation uses art to help people connect with each other. It works in the fields of alternative health, education, philosophy, psychology, social care and yoga.
About the Project
These walks are part of our ‘Classical Fusion’ project, funded by Arts Council England and the Baring Foundation. People who take part will have the chance to help create a soundscape for a performance at The Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall.
