A promotional graphic for an exhibition titled

Celebrating the inspiring individuals who have made an impact on Nottingham’s LGBTQ+ community, OUR QUEER FUTURES is a series of portraits captured by Nottingham based photographer Katie Bishop as part of Queer Up Duck!

Those featured in this exhibition were nominated through a public vote for their dedication to championing equality, inclusion and visibility, helping to make Nottingham a more accepting place for everyone. Whether it’s championing trans inclusivity, archiving the city’s queer history or entertaining in a glamorous frock and heels, these individuals deserve the status of Notts LGBTQ+ Heroes.

A person with short hair and glasses stands with their back to the camera, wearing a denim jacket. The back of the jacket features an embroidered design of a horse and a patch across the shoulders that reads "The Future is Queer" in bold white text, surrounded by flame-like patterns. The background includes faint graffiti-like black markings.

About Queer Up Duck!

Queer Up Duck! is Nottingham’s LGBTQ+ Arts Festival, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, artists and audiences. Queer Up Duck! was created out of a desire to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community of Nottingham outside of Pride and LGBTQ+ History Month. At Pride we see thousands of the LGBTQ+ community out on our streets celebrating with allies and the community alike, but what about the rest of the year? Enter Queer Up Duck! a city-wide festival featuring theatre, exhibitions, film, music, comedy, drag and more at venues across this city.
