City Arts’ Get Creative Collective present an exhibition exploring the concept of comfort.
Get Creative supports a group of artists who are learning disabled, experience mental health issues or are receiving other types of health care in the community. Weekly sessions act as a pop-up studio space for the artists. With one-on-one support from artist Dominique Cunnington and our team of volunteers, group members work on their own art projects.
‘Comfort’ is about the feeling instilled by a good cup of tea and your favourite biscuit on a chilly day. It is in winter that we seek out creature comforts the most. This exhibition is designed to pass on a feeling of warm, friendly, comfort to the viewer. Think about you own favourite biscuits, the tin they came in, and remember the loved ones you shared them with.
Biscuits mean everything, you can put them with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and that’s the feeling of winter
