City Arts has worked with a new company, Transported, supporting them to recruit local performers who will bring to life Mandinga Arts‘ beautiful carnival costumes. We are pleased that some of the performers from the Nottingham leg of the tour enjoyed themselves so much that we will also be taking them with us to Boston.
Here’s some of the great feedback we got from the people who took part in Night of Festivals Nottingham:
“I liked being silly in the Market Square”
“I enjoyed seeing the reactions of people who the big skeletons scared”
“I loved the creativity, fun and weirdness of it”
“It was perfect work experience for my course, would love to work with this company again. City Arts Rock!!!”
We hope they have as much fun in Boston!
The storytelling yurt will host a specially commissioned new work, the Maid of Mariposa, created & performed by Stephen Jon, an artist City Arts regularly has the pleasure of working with.
The festival will be at Central Park and Boston Market Place on 12th and 13th October. Check out the full programme on the Night of Festivals website.
