The City Arts crowd funding campaign has now closed, and has raised £820. We want to say a huge thank-you to everyone who pledged their support – those of you who donated have some fantastic gifts to look forward to.

You can still support us to make this years City Arts Carnival troupe the best ever.  If you would like to pledge directly, you can send donations to our office and they will be added to the crowd-funding total.

With the money we raised we will allow us complete the following aspects of our carnival programme:

The Boat

We will work with local graffiti artist Nathan Bainbridge to make a boat shaped float that will lead our troupe with pride in the carnival procession.  Nathan will work with young people to develop ideas for the look of the boat and then use these ideas to build something extraordinary!

London School of Samba

We have been invited to be part of a nationwide project with the London School of Samba. They would like to share their skills and experience with artists in Nottingham, who can then in turn develop their own ideas for future carnivals. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the UK’s original Samba School, developing new ideas and making something extra special for this years carnival.

These projects will come together at Nottingham Carnival on the 18th August, see you there.
