Freedom Square’ by artist Alinah Azadeh, has been specially commissioned by ArtReach for Night of Festivals Touring, a two-day Festival celebrating freedom and democracy through artistic innovation.  The piece will comprise up to 1,200 multi-coloured flags, which Alinah is inviting you to customize with prints, stencils and drawings in workshops on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th September.

Come to the workshops and develop bold graffiti designs and slogans using block printing and creative writing.  You can create your own series of Freedom Squares, which will hang amongst 1,200 others as part of this new work.

Workshop Dates & Times:

Saturday 7th September

NOTTINGHAM CONTEMPORARY (10am to 6pm)

Workshop One:  10.15 to 11.45
Workshop Two:  12.00 to 1.30
Families drop-in sessions: 12.00 & 12.45 (ages 5 up)
Workshop Three: 4.00 to 5.30

Sunday 8th September

CITY ARTS (10.30am to 2.30am)

Workshop One:  10.30 to 12.00
Workshop Two:  1.00 to 2.30

Join these artist-led workshops for your chance to help create this stunning artwork collaborative artwork.  The final work will be shown inside the City Arts Dome.

Night of Festivals will come to Nottingham on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September.  Join us in Old Market Square to enjoy a myriad of dance, music, storytelling and carnival performance.  Spot your very own Freedom Square inside the Dome!
