City Arts is working with ArtReach to develop an touring Night of Festivals programme for 2013/14.  We are looking for diverse artists that specialise in dance, music (including acoustic music), spoken word, drama or performance to showcase their work as part of the festival.

Work will be presented in the City Arts Dome, a 10 metre geodesic structure, that will be sited in a number of different civic locations as part of the wider Night of Festivals programme. The dome can accommodate an audience of up to 100 people, so proposals will need to be able to respond to this intimate space.

Night of Festivals celebrates values of freedom and democracy through artistic innovation. It explores themes such as

  • Latin American independence
  • Democracy
  • Civil Rights
  • Freedom of speech
  • Women’s voice within democracy

We are open to wider proposals that respond to these themes rather than addressing them directly.

The touring dates are: Nottingham – 13/14th September 2013, Boston – 12/13th October 2013, Slough – 30/31st May 2014 and Leicester – 16/17th August 2014. Artists need to be able to commit to the whole tour schedule.

Night of Festivals Touring is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

The performance fee will be negotiated with each artist/company in response to proposals received, but will be in the range of £200-400 per day.

To apply please send a CV, some examples of your work and a short proposal (200-300 words) of how your work responds or relates to the brief to adele@artreach.biz by 1pm on Wednesday 3rd July. Please address any other enquiries via email rather than telephone.  Download this call out as a PDF below.
