Exhibitions

1. Artwork by Standhill Infants School

Bake ‘n’ Cobs, 3 Standhill Road, NG4 1JL

Original artwork by Year 1 and 2 primary school pupils. Standhill is a small county school on the edge of the Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County border. 

Presented in the shop window. Can be viewed during daylight hours.

2. Edwina Kung

Primo, 351 Carlton Hill, NG4 1JE

Art exploring connections between people, places and memories. Edwina Kung is a visual artist from Hong Kong, based in Cartlon.

Presented inside the cafe. Open 9am – 6:30pm Mon to Wed, 9am – 10pm Thu, 9am – 10:30pm Fri & Sat, 9am – 5pm Sun.

3. Sarah Sewell

Carlton Hill Library, 341 Carlton Hill, NG4 1JE

Textile artworks drawn with a sewing machine. Sarah began her art journey in 2011 and started Wildgoose Designs in 2012.

Presented in the library window. Can be viewed during daylight hours.

4. Sarah Manton

Age Concern, 352-356 Carlton Hill, NG4 1JB

Handcrafted papercuts, known as Scherenschnitt in German. Sarah Manton runs a shop, Curious Nottingham, based at Sneinton Market.

Presented inside the cafe. Open 9am – 4:30pm Mon & Fri, 9am – 4pm Sat.

5. Community Portraits

Piginns Cafe, 340 Carlton Hill, NG4 1JD

Artist Mik Godley’s digital drawings of Carlton residents. Mik drew people from Jigsaw Homes’ Moreland Court and Orchard Court.

Presented inside the cafe. Open 9am – 4pm Mon & Tues, 9am – 3pm Wed & Thu, 9am – 6pm Fri, 8am – 6 pm Sat & Sun.

6. Dawn Feeney Copper

Who’s Next Barbers, 320 Carlton Hill, NG4 1GD

Nature inspired, hand embossed copper pictures. Dawn Feeney is a Carlton based metal worker predominantly working with copper.

A celebration of creativity and community in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.

Carlton Art Week is a festival that empowers Carlton residents to come together and share their passion for art, crafts and heritage. The first Carlton Art Week is 23 – 30 October 2024.

The festival is produced by City Arts and supported by Gedling Borough Council.
