Read or download Murmurations – Building an LGBTQIA+ Friendly Nottingham, a new zine produced by City Arts.
The zine features a collection of poems, writings, and artworks that reflect on the experience of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community in Nottingham. Members of the city’s LGBTQIA+ community contributed work created during three workshops at City Arts. The workshops were led by poet Ben Macpherson, artist Chan Fagan, and theatre-maker Evie Osbon.
In his introduction to the zine, Dr. Hongwei Bao explains:
This project explores how queer people experience, navigate, and shape Nottingham. It asks how city infrastructure can be more inclusive and what local councils and businesses can do to support that.
Physical copies of the zine were printed by Dizzy Ink and distributed during Nottingham Poetry Festival.
